Board of Deacons
1 And in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplied, there arose a murmuring of the Grecians against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration.

2 Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables.

3 Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.

4 But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.

Thus the office of the deacon is charged with overseeing the day to day administrations of the church body. The duties of the board of Deacons are:

To serve the membership:

Visit and serve communion to the sick and shut-in.

Provide spiritual counseling to members as needed.

Support members during the loss of a loved one and assist in preparation of the funeral service.

To support and aide the pastor:

Assist during baptism

Lead devotion during worship service.

Serve communion to the congregation

To serve the church's ministries:

Acting in the capacity of a spiritual advisor to church auxiliaries, to ensure that the auxiliary’s ministry is in accordance with the Pastor’s vision for the church.

In the event of an emergency, preach the gospel in the absence of an ordained minister.
Each member is assigned to a deacon - every effort is made to keep  family members together.  The deacon should be considered an extended member of the family.   The deacons at Aenon share in the joys, triumphs and sorrows of each member.
